Galleri Pictura presenterar stolt Jorun Jonasson som den första konstnären för terminen. I utställningen All Waves Are the Same skapas ett språk som likt matematiken försöker förklara vår verklighet.
I hennes arbete illustreras universums flerdimensionalitet. Där dras paralleller till såväl matematiska teorier som populärkultur, och visar på svårigheten i att förklara vår verklighet på ett sätt vi faktiskt kan förstå.
I undersökningen av dessa ting arbetar Jorun Jonasson med både organiska och artificiella material, i både fysiska objekt och ljus-, ljud- och videoinstallationer.
Betraktaren uppmärksammas på det som inte går att se men som vi vet finns där. Det vi ser är dock sekundärt till det vi tänker. I All Waves Are the Same är det i betraktarens tanke som utställningen kommer att existera.
Jorun Jonasson (f. 1984) bor och arbetar i Stockholm. Hon är utbildad vid Konsthögskolan i Malmö, Maumaus Escola de Artes Visuais i Lissabon samt Konstfack och Fotoskolan i Stockholm. Hon har tidigare ställt ut i urval på Galleri Box, Göteborg (2014), Nationalgalleriet, Stockholm (2014), Inter Arts Center, Malmö (2013) och One Night Only Gallery, Oslo (2010). Hon har också deltagit i filmprojektet The Filmballad of Mamadada, som har visats på flera filmfestivaler och konstinstitutioner, bland annat på Louisiana i Humlebæk, Danmark och The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts i New York.

Galleri Pictura is proud to present Jorun Jonasson as the first artist of this semester. In the exhibition All Waves Are the Same, the artist creates a language which seeks to explain our reality.
In her work, Jorun Jonasson illustrates the multiple dimensions of the universe. She draws parallels to mathematics as well as popular culture and shows us the difficulties in explaining our reality in ways we can comprehend.
Investigating these things, she works with both organic and artificial materials, in physical objects and with light, sound and video installations.
Attention is brought to things that cannot be seen, but which we know are there. What we see, however, comes second to what we think. In All Waves Are the Same, the exhibition comes to place in the mind of the beholder.
Jorun Jonasson (born 1984) works and lives in Stockholm. She has studied at Konsthögskolan ins Malmö, Maumaus Escola de Artes Visuais in Lissabon as well as Konstfack and Fotoskolan in Stockholm.
