Galleri Pictura presenterar stolt konstnärerna Jacob Hurtig och Simon Grahn Danielsson i en temporär utställning i Skulpturparken på Skissernas Museum.
Det platsspecifika verket Lean-To, inspirerat av Roald Amundsens polarexpedition, öppnar upp för reflektioner kring begrepp som frihet och rörelse, och undersöker den mångbottnade symboliken i ett annars vardagligt objekt.
Verkets utforskande av det tillfälliga, resandet, speglar också Galleri Picturas nya funktion som ett ambulerande galleri, denna gång i samarbete med Skissernas Museum som under samma kväll öppnar sin nya utställning Skiftande landskap.
Jacob Hurtig har en master i fri konst från Akademi Valand i Göteborg och går just nu kursen CuratorLab på Konstfack i Stockholm. Tidigare har han b.la. ställt ut på Göteborgs konsthall, Konsthallen Bohusläns Museum i Uddevalla, Galleri Thomassen i Göteborg och Galleri Steinsland Berliner i Stockholm. Hurtig har också curaterat ett antal utställningar på till exempel Grafik i väst, Konstbiblioteket i Stockholm, samt 3:e våningen, Göteborg.
Simon Grahn Danielsson jobbar med projektet Broken Window Poetry som är en dokumentation av plats och gester i mellanrum och ikke sted i stadsrummet. Han går sitt avslutande år på Kunstakademiet i Tromsø, har innan dess studerat måleri vid Göteborgs Konstskola och har ställt ut bland annat på Bottna landart, Diehtosiida och Galleri Olika.

Galleri Pictura is proud to present the artists Jacob Hurtig and Simon Grahn Danielsson in a temporary exhibition in the sculpture park at Skissernas Museum.
The site-specific work Lean-To, inspired by Ronald Amundsen’s polarexpedition, invites us to reflect upon the concepts of freedom and movement, and explores the ambiguous symbolism of an otherwise ordinary object.
The piece’s exploration of the temporary, the traveling, also reflects Galleri Pictura’s new function as an ambulant gallery, this time in a collaboration with Skissernas Museum who, during the same evening, will have the opening of their new exhibition Skiftande landskap.
Jacob Hurtig has a master in fine arts from Valand Acadamy and is currently studying at Curatorlab at Konstfack in Stockholm. Hurtig have had previous exhibitions on Gothenburg’s Art Center, Art Center Bohusläns Museum in Uddevalla, Gallery Thomassen in Gothenburg, and Gallery Steinsland Berliner in Stockholm. Hurtig has also curated several exhibitions, for instance Grafik I Väst, Konstbiblioteket in Stockholm, as well as 3:e våningen in Gothenburg.
Simon Grahn Danielsson work with the project Broken Window Poetry as an documentation of places and gestures in the spaces and gaps of the urban space. He is studying his final year at Kunstakdemiet in Tromsø, and before that he studied painting at Gothenburgs Artschool. Grahn Danielsson have had previous exhibitions on i.a. Bottna Landart, Diehtosiida and Galleri Olika.
